Red Chicken Soup

Margarita Kourtparasidou (percussion) and Guido De Flaviis (saxophone) were both students in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. During their master studies they realized that they had common needs and the same passion to play modern music and to break the limits of the saxophone-percussion duos that already existed. So they founded the Red Chicken Soup Duo in 2006. The choice of the repertoire demanded great technical skills, a lot of musical experience and very good chamber music qualities. The aim was to join the Gaudeamus Competition for Interpreters and to finish their studies in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in a common final concert. Both of them happened with a lot of success; the final exam on 12th of April 2007 with cum laude and their semifinal position in the Gaudeamus Competition.

The Red Chicken Soup Duo had the chance to travel through out Europe and USA with the financial support of the Honours Program from the Ministry of Culture in the Netherlands. They already played in San Diego (California, USA), New York (USA), Porto (Portugal), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Milan (Italy) and Greece.
